Columbus Public Library being closed Sunday and Monday for the Labor Day holiday weekend kept people out of the building, but area residents with library cards were still able to access library resources online!
Those with existing cards can create wish lists of books they’d like to read next or movies they want to watch, renew items they’ve checked out, stream and download music, listen to audiobooks, read ebooks or even start learning a new language.
Start on the library’s page of the city website: http://www.columbusne.us/library and click the Catalog link. On this site, the library’s catalog, you can log in to your library account with your card number and a PIN. If you don’t know your PIN, call the library at 402-564-7116 and we can look it up for you.
Once logged in you can renew items you have checked out and place holds on items that are checked out by others. Placing a hold means you’ll be notified when an item is returned and then we hold it at the front desk for a week so you can come check it out. On our catalog, you can also create lists. I have lists of books I’d like to read or listen to, sorted by genre, so I can choose one that appeals to me at the time.
